Cruising and overnight boats
An overnight boat needs a place to sleep, a head and enough range to make the trip a pleasure. A weekend at anchor in the Keys, a night on the Intracoastal or a run down the coast starts with the cabin: berths, a head, air conditioning where it is offered, and a layout that lets guests spread out. The boats below include Wellcraft Explorer 38 and 44, Scout LXF models from 42 feet, and Regal XO, FXO and larger SAV models. Compare the listed berths, fuel capacity, beam and height, then ask our team about slips, trailers and delivery. Ultimate Marine can arrange a private walkthrough at the store nearest you, so you can see the cabin before you decide.

Questions cruisers ask.
Still deciding? Tell us how many sleep aboard and where you like to stay.
What is the difference between a cabin cruiser, an express cruiser and a center console with a cabin?
A cabin cruiser has an enclosed interior with berths and a head. An express cruiser puts the helm in an open cockpit with a cabin below, so you get sleeping space and open-air driving. A center console with a cabin keeps fishing deck space and adds a compact interior. Pick by how often you sleep aboard.
What size boat do I need for overnight trips?
Most boats that sleep two comfortably start in the high 20s, and boats that sleep a family with a real galley and head run larger. Beam and cabin headroom matter as much as length. Tell our team how many people sleep aboard and where you stay, and we'll suggest models that fit.
What should I check before sleeping aboard?
Check berth size and ventilation, a working head with a holding tank, and a carbon monoxide detector. Know where the pump-out stations are on your route, and confirm the electrical and air conditioning setup if you plan to stay at a slip. Our team can walk through these items on any boat you are considering.
Can I trailer a cruiser, or do I need a slip?
Smaller cruisers can be trailered if the beam is 8 feet 6 inches or less. Wider boats need permits to tow on public roads in most cases, and larger cruisers are usually kept in a slip or on a lift. Check the listed beam, height and weight, and ask us about delivery and storage.
What does it cost to own a cruiser beyond the purchase price?
Plan for slip or storage fees, insurance, fuel, routine engine service and bottom care. Costs vary with the size of the boat, the marina and how often you use it. Our service team can explain the maintenance schedule for a model before you buy, and our finance team can discuss the purchase.
